Players to Watch: CHI vs VAN (10/21/21)

The Chicago Blackhawks are searching for their first win of the season as the Vancouver Canucks visit the United Center Thursday night. Chicago is 0-3-1 on the season after losing their home opener to the New York Islanders.

The Blackhawks actually started Tuesday’s game looking like a good team. All it took was one goal being scored on them for all of that to change. It seemed to completely shatter their game and they played the remainder like they were confused and disorganized.

They simply need to be better. Getting that started against the Canucks would be great.

Ready for the Goal Differential funness?

Through four games, the Vancouver Canucks have scored 10 goals while allowing 15. They have a DIFF of -5. The Canucks are 1-2-1 in their four games.

The Blackhawks went into Tuesday night’s game with a -6 DIFF. That game did them no favors.

Through four games, the Chicago Blackhawks have scored 8 goals while allowing 17 for a DIFF of -9. Ouch.

Here are your players to watch!

Dylan Strome

Dylan Strome is making his 2021-22 season debut for the Blackhawks tonight as they search for any sort of answer to their terrible start. Strome should be coming into this game with something to prove. It’s the perfect time to send a message to the coaching staff that he deserves to play. Will he? That’s a different story.

Kevin Lankinen

Kevin Lankinen gets the start tonight in net. He was fairly solid in his first outing against the New Jersey Devils. That’s the only game the Blackhawks have picked up a point in. Unfortunately, they lost that one in overtime. Marc-André Fleury hasn’t been getting much help from his team, but he’s also had a rough start to the year personally. Can Kevin get the Blackhawks their first win?

Kirby Dach

Kirby Dach has consistently been one of the best Blackhawks in this young season. That’s saying a lot since the team as a whole has been really bad. He’s been making things happen out there, and he does have two goals. It would be nice to see Dach have another good game and maybe pocket a couple of points this time.
